Why We Built This Site
Public access in Louisiana begins with identifying the record holder. Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office maintains jail booking information and its law-enforcement records. The court that heard a case keeps the charging papers, docket activity, and disposition. The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Office of State Police, Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information (BCII) operates the central repository and fingerprint-based Right to Review. Corrections Services and the Louisiana State Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry answer still other questions. This site brings together official contacts, portals, fees, and request procedures so those separate responsibilities are easier to follow.
What You Will Find Here
- Agency contacts: ways to reach the sheriff, criminal courts, and statewide record systems serving Ascension Parish
- Record guides: practical help with finding and reading criminal court case records
- Official review steps: how an individual requests a fingerprint-based Right to Review from BCII
- Expungement information: the Louisiana process and the court where a qualifying petition is filed
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not a court, police agency, sheriff's office, or Louisiana state agency. Those boundaries mean the site cannot:
- Issue a certified court record, criminal-history response, or rap sheet
- Submit an expungement petition, public-records request, or other filing for a reader
- Run an official background check or retrieve someone's government record
- Offer legal advice about a charge, warrant, disposition, or individual case
- Promise that an agency's address, fee, phone number, or procedure has not changed
An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the sheriff, the deciding court, or Louisiana State Police BCII. This resource only provides directions to those offices.
Search Partners
Third-party companies power search boxes found on some pages. Each provider controls its service, prices, data practices, and results. A completed paid signup may generate a referral payment that supports free access to this resource. Ascension Parish Criminal History does not set a partner's charges or determine what its search returns.
